NAFCO | 20 Precautions for Brass Valve Installation

From: NAFCO | Brass Valves China Manufacturer
What attention should you need when installing brass valves? We have 20 tips for you.

1. When installing the brass valve, it is necessary to clean the inner cavity and the sealing surface, and the connecting bolts are evenly tightened to check whether the packing is tight.
2. The brass valve during installation is in the closed state.
3, large-size gate valve, pneumatic control valve should be installed vertically, so as not to be biased to one side due to the large weight of the valve core, this will cause leakage.
4. There is a set of correct installation process standards.

5, brass valves should be installed in accordance with the allowed working position, but must pay attention to the convenience of inspection and operation.
6. The installation of the shut-off valve should be such that the flow direction of the medium is consistent with the arrow marked on the valve body. For the brass valve that does not open and close frequently, and it is necessary to strictly ensure that it does not leak under the closed state, it can be reversed to make it with the pressure of the medium closed.
7. When tightening the compression screw, the brass valve should be in a slightly open state to avoid crushing the top sealing surface of the valve.
8. The low temperature brass valve should be opened and closed in the cold state as far as possible before positioning, requiring flexibility and no jamming.

9. The liquid valve should be configured such that the valve stem is inclined at an angle of 10° to the horizontal to prevent the liquid from flowing out along the valve stem. More serious is to avoid leakage.
10. After the large-scale air separation tower is barely cold, the flange of the connected brass valve is pre-tightened in a cold state to prevent the leakage at a low temperature and the leakage at a low temperature.
11. It is strictly forbidden to climb the valve stem as a scaffold during installation.
12. After all the brass valves are in place, they should be opened and closed again, and the flexible and non-clamping phenomenon is qualified.

13. Brass valves should normally be positioned prior to pipe installation. The piping should be natural and the position should not be hard to avoid the prestressing.
14. Non-metallic brass valves, some are hard and brittle, some have low strength. When operating, the opening and closing force should not be too large, especially not to make it strong. Also pay attention to the object collision.
15. When handling and installing brass valves, beware of accidents caused by bumps and scratches.
16. When the new brass valve is used, the packing should not be pressed too tightly, so as not to leak, so as to avoid the valve stem being pressed too much, accelerating wear and tear, and it is difficult to open and close.
17. Before installing the brass valve, make sure that the brass valve meets the design requirements and relevant standards.
18. Before installing the brass valve, the inside of the pipe should be cleaned to remove impurities such as iron filings to prevent the foreign body of the brass valve seal from being trapped.
19. When the high temperature brass valve is installed at normal temperature, after use, the temperature rises, the bolt expands and the gap increases, so it must be tightened again. This problem needs attention; otherwise it is easy to leak.
20. Install the brass valve to confirm whether the flow direction of the medium, the installation form and the position of the handwheel are in compliance with the regulations.

NAFCO | Brass Gate Valve Installation

NAFCO | Brass Gate Valve Installation From: NAFCO | China Brass Valves Manufacturer 1. The installation of the gate valve must be carried out by qualified operators. The deviation of the different axial directions of the two ends of the pipeline must not be too large, otherwise excessive pipeline installation stress will be generated, resulting in failure and damage. The thread precision and effective length strictly enforce the ISO228-1 relevant standards.    When installing the screw, the hex or octagonal part of the same side of the thread should be clamped. The hexagonal or octagonal part of the other end of the valve should not be wrenched to avoid deformation of the valve. It must be made of Teflon tape or thread sealant seal.     2. To install the tightening valve, you must use the corresponding torque wrench or pipe wrench, and screw in the effective thread length. Do not excessively cause the inner end surface to be pressed, causing the s...

NAFCO | Torque Test of Brass Ball Valves

NAFCO | Torque Test of Brass Ball Valves Time:2018-08-09 From: NAFCO | Brass Valves China Manufacturer The tests described are type tests (laboratory tests) and not quality control tests carried out during manufacture. Tests shall be carried out in the sequence of this standard on the same brass ball valve. All tests shall be carried out with cold water of (20 ± 5) °C. The brass ball valve shall not be leaking or broken during the test, failing which the ball valve is not qualitified. 1.1.1 General Hold the ball valve in a rigid fixture as shown in Figure 1. a) All tests shall be carried out with connections to the valves (whatever their end fitting configurations) which are capable of withstanding the required torque values and bending moments (according to Table 1); b) if the inlet and outlet connection are not on a common axis, the torque tests shall be repeated with the connections reversed; c) ensure that the bending and torsional moments ca...
