NAFCO | What Is a Brass Ball Valve

NAFCO | What Is a Brass Ball Valve
Time:2018-05-05 From: NAFCO | Brass Valves China Manufacturer
Brass ball valve is valve that opens and closes through the rotating of a ball with a hole inside, the ball is connected and operated by the handle. The flow passes through the valve when the ball hole in line with pipe way, the valve will be closed when the ball rotates 90 degrees.
Brass Ball Valve Structure
The application of brass ball valves
Brass ball valve is generally used for household water pipes or gas pipes using low-pressure small diameter valve, to shut off, distribute and change the direction of medium flow. The V-shaped open ball valve also has a good flow regulation function, widely used in Chemicals, petrochemicals, petroleum, paper, mining, electricity, liquefied gas, food, pharmaceuticals, water supply and drainage, municipal, machinery and equipment, electronics industry, urban construction and other fields.

The features of brass ball valves
The main characteristic of the ball valve is its compact structure, low fluid resistance, and no flow resistance for the full-diameter ball valve. Reliable sealing, simple structure, small size, light weight, easy maintenance, sealing surface and spherical surface are often in closed state, not easy to be eroded by medium, easy to operate and maintain, suitable for general working medium such as water, solvent, acid and natural gas, etc. It is also suitable for use in poor working conditions such as oxygen, hydrogen peroxide, methane, and ethylene. It is widely used in various industries. When fully open or fully closed, the sealing surfaces of the ball and valve seat are isolated from the medium. When the medium passes, it will not cause Erosion of the sealing surface of the valve can be applied to a wide range of applications, from small to several millimeters in diameter, up to a few meters in height, and from high vacuum to high pressure. The ball valve body can be integral or modular.
There are two types of ball support: floating ball valve and fixed ball valve.
1. Floating ball valve: Its main feature is that the ball has no supporting shaft ball to support the valve seat at both ends of the valve inlet and outlet. The valve stem and the ball are active links, so this ball valve ball is held in place by the two valve seats and is in a "floating" state.
2. Fixed ball valve: Its feature is that the ball is integrated with the upper and lower valve stems, and the ball can rotate freely along the vertical axis of the valve passage, but it cannot move along the axis of the passage. Therefore, the fixed ball valve has a small torque, a small deformation of the valve seat, a stable sealing performance, and a long service life, and is suitable for high pressure and large diameter applications.

NAFCO | The Difference Between Brass Gate Valve and Brass Globe Valve

The Difference Between Brass Gate Valve and Brass Globe Valve Time:2019-01-02 From: NAFCO | Brass Valves Manufacturer China Brass gate valve and Brass globe valve are the two most commonly used shut-off valves. The main differences are: 1, the sealing surface is different  When the Brass gate valve is opened and closed, the sealing surface of the valve core and the valve seat always contact and rub against each other, so the sealing surface is easy to wear, especially when the valve is close to the closed state, the pressure difference between the front and the rear of the valve core is large, and the sealing surface wear is more serious. When the valve flap of the shut-off valve is in the open state, its valve seat and the valve sealing surface are no longer in contact, so its sealing surface is less mechanically worn, but if the medium contains solid particles, it is easy to damage the sealing surface. . The sealing surface of the Brass gate valve has a certa...

NAFCO | Torque Test of Brass Ball Valves

NAFCO | Torque Test of Brass Ball Valves Time:2018-08-09 From: NAFCO | Brass Valves China Manufacturer The tests described are type tests (laboratory tests) and not quality control tests carried out during manufacture. Tests shall be carried out in the sequence of this standard on the same brass ball valve. All tests shall be carried out with cold water of (20 ± 5) °C. The brass ball valve shall not be leaking or broken during the test, failing which the ball valve is not qualitified. 1.1.1 General Hold the ball valve in a rigid fixture as shown in Figure 1. a) All tests shall be carried out with connections to the valves (whatever their end fitting configurations) which are capable of withstanding the required torque values and bending moments (according to Table 1); b) if the inlet and outlet connection are not on a common axis, the torque tests shall be repeated with the connections reversed; c) ensure that the bending and torsional moments ca...
